On April 8th, 2012, Association of China Rare Earth Industry (ACREI) was established in Beijing. 155, almost all rare-earth enterprises which include Mine, Smelting, Dissociation, Application, have become the first members and the ACREI will continuously engage more upstream and downstream firms. Our company as one of the first members attended the inaugural conference and accepted the member plaque.

ACREI is a national industry association, sponsored by 13 enterprises include China Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), China Aluminum International Trading Co., Ltd., China Minmetals Corporation, China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group Co., Ltd. (CNMC), China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group (CISRI), General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals (GRINM), Baotou Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd., Ganzhou Rare Eearth Mining Co., Ltd., Rising Nonferrous Metals Share Co., Ltd., etc. National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Land and Resources, Environmental Protection Department, Ministry of Commerce also attended the inaugural conference. Ganyong, Vice president of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was elected as the first president of ACREI and he also is the Chairman of the Chinese Society of Rare Earths.

In the inaugural conference, Subo, Vice Minister of Ministry of Industry, indicated that ACREI will provide supports and services for the management of departments concerned and regional government, strengthen the self-discipline and rights of corporate, moderate the relations between R&D institutions, manufacturers and clients. He also indicated that the environment improvement for rare-earth industry will continue to conduct, more strictly exploring policy will be carry out for rare-earth resources, and establish some large rare-earth enterprise groups.

Zhang Anwen, Deputy Secretary of the Chinese Society of Rare Earths, indicated that the main function of Society is academic exchanges, not the coordinator for internationally trade frictions, and ACREI is the enterprise union which will make some effort in the disputes.

The establishment of ACREI will provide production instruction, market investigation, industry management, intermediary services and prewarning of trade frictions for the members. It will serve as a bridge between enterprises, government and market. In addition, ACREI provide a platforms which can integrate the different ideas into one uniform plan and give accurate feedback to the government. Some problem such as export price and quotas will be dominated by strong influence.

As a member of ACREI, we will make more contributions to the development of association and support with further processing technology.
